When’s Black Friday in 2019?

when's black friday in 2019

Black Friday in 2019 will be on November 29th. It’s always the Friday that’s right after Thanksgiving day in the United States, which is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of the month of November. Following Black Friday is Cyber Monday, a popular day for online shopping. Although Black Friday is not recognized as a national holiday in the United States, many places of work give their employees the day off to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Black Friday is know for being the official start of the holiday shopping season with many stores, including online, offering some of the deepest discount of the year. Big box stores like Walmart, Best Buy, Staples, and others open their stores extra early in the morning and often save their deepest discounts for the fist few hours.  Some customers even camp out for days in front of the store to be the first ones to be able to buy the limited sale items.

In recent years the Black Friday sales have extended beyond the single day with many merchants opening stores on Thanksgiving day leading to protest from certain workers unions. Often these sales last through the weekend up until Cyber Monday (that falls on the next monday after Black Friday). Many websites have popup over the years that track these sales and ads exclusively (i.e. BlackerFriday.com).
